Q: What do I get out of joining CSCMP?

The purpose of this organization is to be the interface between our CSCMP members and CSCMP’s international professional network. CSCMP is an international association focused on providing supply chain management professionals with career support through networking opportunities, information and research, and educational workshops and conferences.

Q: If I am a member of CSCMP at UTK, am I also a member of the international association?

Yes, your dues will grant you membership into our student chapter as well as CSCMP's international association. This allows you to utilize all of CSCMP's resources, such as conferences, mentor programs, webinars, industry certifications, etc.

Q:  If I am a female student, do I have to pay additional dues to join NeXxus: Connecting Women in Supply Chain?

No, CSCMP and NeXxus offer dual membership for our female students. Once you submit your membership form and submit $25 in dues, you will be a member of both student organizations

Q:  Is event attendance mandatory?

Attendance is not mandatory, as CSCMP allows you to attend the events that fit into your schedule.

Q:  How should I dress for events?

Different events will require different dress codes. All members should be notified a few days before the event date as to what the dress expectation is. Casual, smart casual, and business casual are our most frequent dress codes.

Q:  Do I ever need to resubmit a membership form or dues?

Yes, your $25 dues are only good for one academic year. You will need to resubmit your membership form and dues each year you wish to remain in the club.

Q:  Are off-campus events, such as international conferences and company site visits, free?

Unfortunately, no. Although CSCMP pays for a large portion of the expense, students are typically asked to pay between $50-$100 for off-campus excursions.

Q:  What is the SCPro Certification?

The SCPro™ Certification program is a tiered program starting with entry-level certifications to master the fundamentals of supply chain management, and progressing into a tiered, professional-level program that assesses progressive knowledge and skills across integrated supply chain activities. As a student chapter, we offer the Level One SCPro Certification.

Q:  How and when can I take the SCPro Certification?

The SCPro Certification is offered 1-2 times per year by our chapter depending on student interest. Only senior and graduate-level students qualify to sit for the examination. Periodic group study sessions will be offered ahead of any examination date.

Q: How can I become a member of the CSCMP Executive Board?

Toward the end of each academic year, we accept applications for a variety of executive roles based on position availability and need. Final decisions will be made by the incoming CSCMP President.
